Neuroscience of Fear and How to Let Go of It

Fear presents in many forms, it is all too common and anxiety is on the rise in across public, health and professional services due to a blend of factors. It affects health and wellbeing, performance, and quality of life and work, making it everyone's business. Join us to develop personal practices that will help you let go of unwanted fear based emotions and improve your response to stress. As this is a weekend session, be rest assured you will feel well rested and relaxed after the session!

Impact of Fear

  • Health and Wellbeing: Fight flight freeze based survival responses increases stress and anxiety, impacting negatively on our nervous system, mental and physical health.

  • Performance: Fear may hinder decision-making and reduce effectiveness in our personal and professional lives.

  • Quality of life and work: The overall quality of life and work, including care and support, may decline due to excessive fear and stress, negatively impacting on personal outcomes.

Join us to develop personal practices that will help improve your response to stress and let go of fear based emotions. Together, we can create a supportive environment that fosters resilience and wellbeing.

 We are going to cover the following themes through the lense of LEAF - Let-go, Empower, Action and Flourish:
  • What we mean by fear: What situations we feel fear and how it makes us feel.

  • Multi-dimensional causes of fear: Personal, Professional, Team, Organisational.

  • The impact of fear: on our nervous system, on our risk of burnout, on our health and wellbeing, performance, service user and career outcomes.

  • Improve response to stress over time: Neuroscience informed tools including Havening Techniques, breathing techniques and Brain Training.

  • Take Action to Let-Go/reduce excessive fear based emotions: reduce negative rumination and empower positive emotions to tap into authentic resilience.

  • Surviving to Thriving: The neuroscience of fear based emotions Vs Flourishing.

  • Access to an online Havening Visualisation Audio/Video and our up and coming Program 'From Fear To Flourishing'.

 During the session, there will 1 hour or so of interactive presentation, a one to one live demo, and 20 minutes of group practice, bringing the session and learnings to life.
 
About your Trainer

Jan Carpenter is an Adult Social Worker of 25 years to team manager level. Jan has developed and delivered training as part of his roles outside Social Work as well inside Social Work, various Social Work Recruitment agencies and Social Work Conferences, the LGA funded national Return to Social Work program, BASW, Skills for Care and Brunel University among others. Jan is certified Havening Techniques Practitioner and Trainer as well as co-author of book Winning Mindset: Elite Strategies for Peak Performance (a 5 star/best selling book on Amazon).
