Jo is a Holistic Practitioner and Facilitator based in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK. She has run a private therapeutic practice for 17 years with a foundation in heart practice, compassionate witnessing, deepening safety and grounding in the body, trauma healing and listening to our most authentic self to awaken our highest potential and deepest joy.  Every therapeutic session is a truly collaborative approach to deeply nourish, empower and release on all levels.  Jo offers time and space to step more firmly into yourself and onto your path.

Jo is dedicated to inspiring health, well-being and vitality so that we can all live the life and lifestyle we truly desire with deep contentment and the strength and clarity to follow our own inner wisdom.  Life can, at times, get very busy and overwhelming, but what if we can pause... breathe into the moment and find the steadiness and peace within? What if we align more fully in the present, releasing and integrating the past? This pause and inner listening is fundamental to her work and Havening is an invaluable addition to her skills which include physiotherapy, yoga and meditation, massage and aromatherapy, womb wisdom and mentoring, womb healing, women’s circles and earth connection.

These are all practices and tools that have enhanced her own life, bringing greater stillness and peace of both heart and mind. Jo offers a client-centred integrative approach and draws on her unique combination of skills, allowing sessions to unfold as a co-creation with the individual. Release, realignment and integration along with self-compassion, self-empowerment and accessing inner resources are the basis of many sessions.  Jo has helped individuals to feel safer in their body and more connected to the earth, to come back to their balanced, steadiness within and to feel more capable and empowered to live in balance with natural rhythms and cycles and the associated transitions in life.  In essence they step forward in life and thrive!

Jo builds on a foundation of 20 years as a physiotherapist, during which time she worked for the NHS with huge diversity of cases, including patients with severe injury and illness, from A&E and intensive care to rehabilitation and recovery. Her experience handling the more acute or complex cases means she is especially able to support clients that might be in a more vulnerable state, building the necessary trust and connection to allow their journey towards resolution.

Over the years, Jo’s interest in personal and collective trauma deepened and it became evident that Havening could be the most complementary and versatile technique to include in her practice.  After experiencing Havening herself, and realising how profound and the quick changes could be, Jo went on to train as a practitioner. Integrating these techniques seamlessly into her sessions, both online and in person, it offers the possibility of dialoguing with the body and deeper mind to receive valuable information stored in the system, looking at underlying thoughts and beliefs and visiting past memories and potentially difficult times in a way that is light, compassionate and empowering.  Past events, memories and sensations that might have held us back from embracing moments and opportunities in the present can be lovingly approached, viewed with a wiser perspective and reframed or cleared to allow us to live our most enriched and wonderful lives.  This positive shift in awareness and the delinking of associated beliefs and traumatic encoding is only part of what is available, the work is vaster and more wonderful as it allows for building greater resilience, strength and resourcefulness with her clients.

The sacredness of the everyday human life journey inspired the name of her business “Sacred Journeys”.  Releasing the past to align more fully in the present has become even more possible thanks to Havening Techniques.

Jo guides clients in a calm, present, grounded and non-judgemental way that allows a sense of deepening peace and lightness.  As inspiration and enthusiasm naturally radiate, they help encourage the bright vibrant essence within others too.  With feedback from clients such as 'I feel liberated! I don't know if I've every felt so happy and grounded in myself and my space before' and others reporting reduced fear, profound stillness, greater peace and clarity, reduced anxiety, ease of movement in the body, greater hope and inspiration, improving relational communication, emerging confidence, ability to smile more readily and greater calmness of emotions Jo is even more inspired.
