Hello, I am Catriona Alderton. I’ve been practising Transpersonal Art Counselling and Therapy for 10 years, blending this approach with the Emmett Technique: a combination that has been producing powerful results. I’m delighted to have added Havening to the suite of holistic techniques I can offer.
I work in private practice, including part-time support as a therapist for Street Talk, a London-based charity supporting vulnerable women who have been trafficked, abused, and who are trapped in street-based prostitution. My experience of working with this amazing community has helped me hone my skills for mentoring and supporting art therapy students.
My approach is intuitive, creative and positive. I also specialise in working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma, abuse, domestic violence, addictions, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, grief, bereavement, anger management, obsessions and compulsions, phobias, building resilience and self esteem, relaxation, mentoring and coaching. My separate work as an artist responds closely to these influences, through spontaneous work and paintings by commission.
I’m a fully registered member of BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and am fully
insured, which I find give an additional level of reassurance to clients.
I’m based in London, and offer sessions using Zoom.
