Fran is a Certified Havening Trainer, Practitioner and Life Coach.

Frans' own life experiences particularly of childhood trauma and adversity led Fran in becoming passionate about healing trauma, stress and the many associated effects in the safest and kindest of ways.

Fran has many years of experience in working with individuals of all ages, including children. She also specialises in halting and reversing the long-term psychological and physiological impact of childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences which can continue to affect even decades later.

Fran works sensitively with presenting issues such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), childhood trauma including early and pre verbal. Complex issues, depression, suppressed or overwhelming emotions, abuse including emotional, addictions and eating disorders to name but a few of her areas of expertise.

By using Havening, Fran is able to gently and efficiently de-link encoded traumas of the past and reduce allostatic load which stops the effects, issues, symptoms from continuing to take over the present, whilst also developing a more resilient landscape. All of which gives individuals the freedom to lead a more positive and healthier future life.

Fran is happy to have a preliminary telephone contact to discuss how she may help you.

From listening and continuing to learn, Fran started to realise that not only was there still more value to add to the conversations around childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences but that there is also more hope than ever to make a difference to another’s past, present and future. Using some of the work of Dr Ruden and her own awareness, Fran has designed a bespoke one day training program:

Havening: A New Approach to Understanding Childhood Trauma & ACEs

This one day training is for professionals and for those who wish to grow their curiosity. Please check the Havening training and events page for future dates/details or contact directly.

Displaced Anger from Childhood.

I had Havening sessions for my anger. Prior, I found myself overreacting to situations. I also supressed a lot of emotions because I didn't know how to verbalise and offload effectively. I visited Fran for four sessions of havening and the first two sessions where quite challenging for me, by the 4th session, it was a total life change. Fran guided me through the whole process without having to disclose triggering information from my childhood. I have now found that as hard as I try to evoke that old anger, I can't find it. It's genuinely not there. I wish I did this years ago. I now find that as heated as work/social can get, I am calm and can think clearer.

Childhood Sexual Abuse.

I went to see Fran after she was recommended to me. I was incredibly apprehensive due to past experiences of support which made me feel worse, but I felt like Fran really understood this. There were no long assessments, or talking and Fran explained what a session looked like before our sessions which really helped me. Havening was an experience that I wasn't expecting. After all these years my childhood memories no longer haunt me and my mental health has dramatically improved.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Something traumatic happened when I was at school and it really messed up my life. I was put on medication and had counselling but it made little difference. I had two sessions of Havening with Fran and within no amount of time I found myself living my life again. Havening was the best choice and I really enjoyed working with Fran.

Domestic Abuse

I came across havening and thought I'd like to give it ago but I when I started I was unsure exactly what for. Fran said just trust the process and I am so glad that I did. Havening sessions helped me find the things that I had buried including the shame and embarrassment that I felt from being in an abusive relationship and get rid of them. I also realised during my sessions how claustrophobic I was and was able to work on some specific situations aswell as the stalking that happened. I no longer feel the same in closed spaces or get the same feeling when someone closes a door. Havening has also made me feel much better about myself and the future.

Abandonment / Relationship Issues

I could be like a red rag to a bull. and fly off the handle with people. When I had my first session of havening I was quite difficult to start with as I was worried if I opened up I would be unfixable. Havening wasn’t like that atall, I felt really safe and relaxed. We worked on significant times in my life that had involved others that made me upset, including things from my childhood, right back to when I was abandoned at birth. I ended up having two sessions of havening and felt really good after both, but I didn’t notice any particular changes until weeks later. Something happened, and after it did I was saying to myself wait a minute, I didn’t react. The things I would usually get triggered by, I no longer do. I also came to understand that it was when I thought someone was going to leave me that I would particularly lose it. I went back to Fran for coaching to find new ways of communicating and working on my own needs which has helped me move forward.

Trapped by Husband's Death - PTSD/Grief

I was unfortunate to witness the sudden death of my husband when I was 39 which left me with PTSD. Over the years I had therapy and continued living but still felt trapped as whenever I though about my husbands death I would relive that night and I could instantly feel all the same emotions. I had accepted that this is what was meant by learning to live with death and that I just had to find coping mechanisms.

Then I was introduced to Havening, having read about it I was sceptical but understood the science so thought it was worth exploring further. I then met Fran, she explained the basics of what I needed to know and I had my first Havening session. After that first session I could no long feel any emotions connected to that night and when I recall it, I am looking down on events, I am no longer in the situation.

For me getting rid of the trauma was so profound, a single session had done more for me than any previous therapy I had ever had. After the first session though, I started to feel incredibly emotional and I couldn’t understand why. I would fluctuate from feeling love, to sadness, anger and pain.

When Fran and I reconnected, Fran reiterated pop up effects but I had been so elated with my first session I didn't pay enough attention as to this was what was happening. Fran explained that first session had unblocked the original trauma, and behind it was all these suppressed emotions. I was literally going through the grief cycle but rapidly.

In my second session we worked through my emotions, the most suppressed one had been anger, and having got it out, I was finally at peace. Fran saw me for a third session just to follow up and make sure that I was doing ok. Which I was and am.

Havening has changed my life as I am no longer trapped by my husbands death and trying to survive. I am now alive and living my life to the full. Fran is an excellent practitioner, so caring and an amazing person. I am so grateful that I met her, Fran has given me my life back in 3 sessions!
