Joy has supported young people in care and adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues through their traumatic lives enabling them to move on to independence, teaching them the skills they need for freedom and confidence enabling them to flourish. They have come from many different backgrounds from severe neglect, CSE, eating disorders, traumatic beginnings, drug and alcohol use, criminal activity, self harm and more. Mothers and fathers and their babies guiding them through a 14 week assessment with the aim for a positive outcome for the baby.
Joy manages a supported accommodation project; Bridging the Gap and another for adults with mental health issues and learning disabilities; Affinity Support Services. She has been working in Social Care since 1991. Joy has fostered over 20 children long-term placements in the past fourteen years in her home with her family.
Joy is a master practitioner in NLP and introduced NLP, TFT and other modalities into her work since 2005 and now is having positive results using the Havening with her many service users and private clients.
