Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Emily, and I am a registered nurse with almost 30 years of clinical experience. Throughout my career, I have supported many individuals who have experienced trauma. This work inspired me to train as a certified Havening Technique® therapist, allowing me to support healing of the mind alongside my work as a nurse caring for the body.

Havening Technique® therapy offers a gentle, effective, and neuroscience-based approach to emotional healing. It is a form of psychosensory therapy that can rapidly reduce the emotional impact of trauma, anxiety, and phobias - sometimes within a single session. The technique uses soothing, self-applied touch to the arms, face, and hands, combined with simple distraction techniques. This process promotes delta brain waves and helps to permanently disconnect the emotional response from distressing memories stored in the amygdala.

One of the unique benefits of Havening is that healing can occur without needing to relive or discuss traumatic experiences in detail, making it a safe and empowering option for many people.

The word Havening comes from “haven,” meaning a place of safety. This structured, step-by-step process is designed to guide emotional trauma into a state of calm and security. Clients often report feeling relieved, grounded, motivated, and energised after sessions.
