Married over 20 years ... divorced  ... mother ... Nana ... sister ... friend, peer, dancer, walker, reader, inquisitor, quilter, lover of the outdoors ... who has a huge belief in the healing power of relationship ... love for families of all sizes, shapes, and compositions ... and hope for lasting personal change and improved well-being. That's me.

After obtaining a Masters and Doctoral degree speicailizing in counselling psychology from the University of Toronto at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, I qualified as a Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical member of the Canadian Association for Marriage & Family Therapy, and  Gestalt Therapist. This means, when a client sits alone with me in the therapy room, I remember and consider their inherent interconnectivity to others, their community, and past.

Through my midlife career change I have accrued nineteen years - and counting - of clinical experience in mental health working with individual clients, couples, and families. As a life long learner following my inner guide and navigating obstacles along the way, my interests have integrated ideas of family systems, positive psychology & wellness, mindfulness, alternative therapies, psychological neuroscience, and most recently, the therapeutic use of Havening Techniques to help heal trauma, stress, anxiety, and grief while also building resiliency.

Eighteen to 103, I view the courageous people who walk through my door - or onto my computer screen - with the utmost respect. My intention is to meet you where you are, while considering the whole of your physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual self. Working collaboratively, we will strive to create change and promote well-being. I have connected with many people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship, sexuality, life transition, and spiritual/existential concerns. I enjoy working experientially in the 'here and now' of our encounter while keeping your strengths, skills, and goals in focus.

Trusting your inner knowing is essential. Within seconds of hearing my voice or meeting with me - and maybe even already - you will know if I am a good fit. The quality of our relationship is as important, possibly more so, than the evidence-based practices used.

It is my hope that my compassion, caring, and curiousity will connect with yours to create the life you have imagined while also remembering Joseph Campbell's salient words, "The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are."
