Welcome to the Havening.org website, where The Center for Havening Research & Training, Inc. (“Center”) offers events and training services, and Adventura, Inc. dba Healing the Mind (“Adventura”) offers educational products. This Disclaimer contains important information to share with you and for you to understand. Please be advised of the following:

The information contained on this website and accompanying blog (collectively “website”), including ideas, suggestions, techniques, methods, videos, articles, classes, trainings, products, resources, and other materials, is educational in nature; is provided only as general information; and is not medical or psychological advice or treatment.

You understand by viewing this website you will be introduced to the Havening Techniques® (“Havening”), an innovative healing approach developed and created by Ronald Ruden, MD, PhD in collaboration with his brother Steven Ruden, DDS. Havening can be described as a type of psychosensory modality based on the fields of neuroscience and neurobiology, which uses sensory input in order to alter thought, mood, and behavior. It is believed that when an event or experience is perceived as traumatic or stressful, it becomes immutably encoded in the psyche and the body, often with life altering consequences. Havening is designed to make changes in the brain in order to de-traumatize and remove from both the psyche and the body the emotional memory of a traumatic or stressful life event and its negative effects. Therefore, Havening is a healing modality that is designed to help individuals overcome problems that are the consequence of traumatic or stressful encoding. Havening is comprised of a number of protocols; one of these protocols used as a therapeutic tool includes human touch, and is identified as Havening Touch®.

Havening has three (3) distinct applications—the first is for emotional disturbances and encoded psychological trauma; the second is for wellness, stress management, and peak performance; and the third is a self-help tool. Therefore, Havening can be used within a psychotherapeutic setting with professional mental health care clinicians who have been fully trained and certified in Havening. In addition, Havening can be used by non-licensed practitioners as a protocol for coaching sessions or as a tool in an allied health care practice by individuals who have been fully trained and certified in Havening. Havening can also be used as a self-help technique and shared with family members and friends.

By visiting this website, you will have the opportunity to enroll in Havening training events (“Events”) and to purchase educational materials regarding Havening (the “Products”). In addition to offering the Events and Products to the general public, you understand they are also part of the Havening Techniques Practitioner Certification Program (the “Program”). If you are a healing arts practitioner, we invite you to consider becoming a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner, which will grant you the right to identify and represent yourself as a Havening Techniques Practitioner. Because “Havening Techniques” and “Havening Touch” are registered trademarks and "Delta Techniques™" is a registered application owned by Ron Ruden, MD, PhD, they can only be used with permission. Therefore, you cannot legally use the trademarks or any derivatives thereof in any advertisement (website), or represent in any manner you use the Havening Techniques unless you are certified.

Although Havening appears to have promising emotional, mental, and physical health benefits, Havening has yet to be fully researched by the Western academic, medical, and psychological communities. Therefore, Havening may be considered experimental, and the extent of its effectiveness, as well as its risks and benefits, are not fully known. Havening is self-regulated and is considered alternative or complementary to the healing arts that are licensed in the United States.
